One thing binds both families: coal. Born into Coal was produced by Catherine Orr and Cath Spangler as part of the Carnegie and Knight funded Coal a Love Story Powering a Nation project. It was awarded gold in the College Photographer of the Year competition, and bronze in Pictures of the Year International (POYi).
